Mitsubishi Motors Ranks Top Japanese Brand by J.D. Power Initial Quality Survey

Every year, the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study measures - among the model year's new vehicles - features and components that fail and are difficult to use as well as issues encountered by owners during their first 90 days of ownership. According to Dave Sargent, vice president of automotive quality at J.D. Power, the study sets the industry benchmark in regards to new vehicle quality.
This year, the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study has ranked Mitsubishi Motors sixth overall among the 33 brands evaluated. The automaker is also the top-ranked Japanese brand in the industry and shows the greatest improvement in ranking, moving from 30th in 2019 to sixth in 2020.
With its 2020 redesign, the 2020 Mitsubishi RVR has also reached top ranking in the small SUV segment, tying for third alongside the Buick Encore and Chevrolet Trax.
